Shia LeBeouf was lucky enough to score a role alongside Michael Douglas in Oliver Stone’s “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps,” but FOX411 is hearing the young actor has been a diva on the set, especially when it comes to shutterbugs.
“Shia wants nothing to do with photographers,” an on-set source tells FOX411. “In fact, he goes out of his way to avoid them, and when he can’t avoid them, he has his handlers demand they not use flashbulbs because they bother his eyes, even when there’s only two or three photographers around. He’s a young guy, so that’s an insane request to make!”
While filming the movie in NYC’s Meatpacking District, a few photographers waited patiently to snap a picture of the star. Once he finally passed by them, they got the photo they had been waiting for, but one shooter got even more than that.
“The photographer was standing against a wall, being careful to respect Shia’s space,” says the eyewitness. “And as Shia passed by him, he went out of his way to move closer to him and give him an elbow to the shoulder as he passed by. It was so out of line.”
The following day, while filming near Lincoln Center, three photographers were set up within shooting distance of his trailer. As soon as Shia saw them, he apparently ran in the other direction.
“It wasn’t like there was a huge crowd gathered,” said the source. “His obsession with his privacy is just plain ridiculous.”
